As one of Wooden Spoon’s oldest regions, we are immensely proud of a legacy that includes in excess of £2 million being donated to more than 85 community projects.

Our commitment to improving the lives of disadvantaged youngsters is best demonstrated by our two-decade relationship with Leeds-based children’s centre Lineham Farm. We provided a grant of £253,000 to the project to fund the conversion of an old farm into a day experience and residential holiday centre for urban-based children who would otherwise miss out on opportunities to get out and about in the countryside.

Wooden Spoon Yorkshire has funded a wide range of projects from sensory rooms to fitness suites to outdoor activity zones. Click Yorkshire to see the full listing.

Wooden Spoon Yorkshire funded £23,000 towards the creation of the Wooden Spoon Cottage for the Leeds City Council Lineham Farm project. Yorkshire previously made a grant to the project in 1992 when they donated £253,000. The cottage is part of a residential holiday centre for inner city children who only have minimal opportunities to visit and experience the countryside.
