A New Space for Growth and Wellbeing
YorkshireYorkshire Play Area Project: A New Space for Growth and Wellbeing
A new play area in the field of educational development for young people with autism and learning difficulties has opened in Yorkshire with a funding boost of £15,000. This project, aimed at creating a safe and inspiring environment for young people to play, connect, and grow, is set to have a significant impact on the local community.
The play area is part of an initiative by Ruskin Mill Trust, an educational charity that operates across England, Scotland, and Wales. Known for its focus on outdoor learning environments and practical land and craft activities, Ruskin Mill Trust supports the development of work and life skills in young people with autism and other learning difficulties.
This new play area, which opened in September 2024, provides a calming and inclusive environment designed to help people of all ages connect, relax, and explore in a supportive space.
The project was generously funded by a Wooden Spoon Charity grant. Wooden Spoon supports Ruskin Mill Trust’s dedication to creating inclusive spaces that foster wellbeing and growth.
