Yorkshire’s Cars & Conversation event drives support for local children & young people

Wooden Spoon’s Yorkshire Region welcomed supporters to its annual Cars & Conversation event on Wednesday 8 July, bringing together classic and prestige car enthusiasts for a memorable day of scenic driving, great company and fundraising in support of children and young people with disabilities or facing disadvantage.

Organised by Stuart Watson, the event saw more than 40 guests enjoy a spectacular route through the picturesque Howardian Hills, making the most of the glorious summer weather. The convoy paused for a coffee stop at The Crown and Cushion in Welburn before continuing through the peaceful country lanes of the Yorkshire Wolds to the magnificent Hotham Hall, where guests enjoyed lunch together.

The carefully planned route took participants along some of Yorkshire’s quieter roads, with the occasional friendly debate over which turning was the correct one. With the sun shining throughout the day, those travelling with their roofs down were treated to stunning views across the countryside, making for an unforgettable driving experience.

The event was made possible thanks to the generous support of Bowcliffe Hall, S&W and Julius Baer, as well as the outstanding hospitality provided by The Crown and Cushion and Hotham Hall.

Wooden Spoon Yorkshire would also like to thank everyone who attended and donated so generously. Every contribution helps Wooden Spoon continue funding life-changing projects that give children and young people with disabilities or facing disadvantage the opportunity to play, build confidence and create brighter futures across the region.
