Team registration for Tag Fest ’26 is now OPEN!
The annual Wooden Spoon International Tag Rugby Festival (Tag Fest) returns on Saturday 20 June 2026, once again hosted by our friends at Broadstreet Rugby Club, near Coventry.

Tag Fest is a celebration of tag rugby, inclusion, teamwork and fun — welcoming teams from England, Ireland, Scotland, Wales and beyond for a full day of rugby, activities and entertainment.

About Tag Fest

Tag Fest is designed to be a fun and inclusive festival for players of all abilities. Following feedback from the 2024 and 2025 festivals, we’ll be increasing game and match opportunities for some categories, while still keeping the festival atmosphere at the heart of the event — expect rugby and plenty of fun and games!

Playing Categories

We invite teams to enter the following categories:

  • Under 15 years – MLD Tag
  • Over 15 years – MLD Tag
  • Under 15 years – SLD Tag
  • Over 15 years – SLD Tag

Team format:

  • Squads of 12 players
  • 7 players on the pitch at any one time
  • Minimum player age: 8 years
  • Facilitators are not included in the on-pitch numbers

What’s Included

Players, coaches, parents and guardians are all encouraged to attend the evening celebrations.

Make a Weekend of It – Go on Tour!

We hope travelling teams will treat Tag Fest as a chance to “go on tour”. Many teams are expected to:

  • Travel to Coventry on Friday or early Saturday
  • Stay overnight in local team hotels
  • Return home on Sunday

Team Registration & Entry Fee

  • Entry fee: £50 per team
  • This fee secures your team’s place at the festival

👉 Registering your team is the first step to taking part.

Multiple Teams

  • Entering a second, third or fourth team in the same category will be permitted after 1 February 2026, subject to space availability.
  • We will do our best to accommodate additional teams.

Wooden Spoon Travel & Accommodation Grant

Once your team is registered, you may be eligible to apply for a Wooden Spoon Grant to help support travel and accommodation costs.
