The Wooden Spoon Marauders are our elite sevens teams competing across the UK, Ireland, and further afield in support of the charity. With experienced team managers and top coaches appointed, the season starts with open trials for the men’s and women’s teams in April, followed by tournaments in May, June, and July, including the prestigious UK Super Sevens Series.

The teams are generously supported by Nirvana Spa and O’Neills Sportswear. Players representing the charity do so at their own expense, enabling the programme to generate funds to support children and young people across the UK & Ireland with disabilities or facing disadvantage.

Sevens rugby is an exhilarating sport that captivates audiences with its fast-paced, high-energy matches. Each game is packed with action, showcasing the players’ speed, agility, and strategic skills. This dynamic format makes every second count and keeps spectators on the edge of their seats.

Adding to the excitement, rugby sevens featured in the Paris 2024 Olympics. This global stage highlighted the thrilling nature of the sport but also inspired a new generation of players and fans. As the Marauders compete in various tournaments, they carry the spirit of the sport and the mission of Wooden Spoon, bringing hope and opportunities to many young lives.
