Wooden Spoon Chiltern Golf Day Raises Over £16,000
Wooden Spoon Chiltern’s 23rd Annual Golf Tournament proved to be another outstanding success, raising over £16,000 in support of the charity’s work with children and young people with disabilities or those facing disadvantage.
The event, originally established in 2003, was once again hosted by the Wooden Spoon Chiltern President at the beautiful yet challenging Whiteleaf Golf Course in Buckinghamshire. Despite testing conditions, with golfers battling both wind and rain, spirits remained high throughout the day as 68 players took to the course.
The tournament was filled with energy, laughter, and friendly competition. Alongside the golf, a lively auction, a classic heads and tails game, and a series of entertaining golfing fines, awarded for a variety of on-course misdemeanours, ensured that fun was had by all both on and off the fairways.
The strong sense of camaraderie and good humour on display perfectly reflected the spirit of Wooden Spoon, with participants embracing both the competitive and social elements of the day.
A special thank you goes to Mark for organising the event, as well as to all the teams and players for their fantastic support and participation.
In a fitting and light-hearted twist, Martin Sanders, Chair of Wooden Spoon Chiltern Region, was part of the team that took home the Wooden Spoon award.
Wooden Spoon Chiltern extends its sincere thanks to everyone involved in making the day such a success. Events like this continue to play a vital role in raising funds that make a real and lasting difference in local communities.
