Record-Breaking Success for Wooden Spoon Leicestershire and Rutland at Oktoberfest 2025
Wooden Spoon is delighted to celebrate the outstanding success of the Leicestershire and Rutland region’s Annual Oktoberfest Lunch, held on Friday 3 October at the Nelson Suite, Leicester Racecourse.
The sell-out event welcomed a record number of guests, who enjoyed a vibrant afternoon of welcome drinks, traditional Oompah band entertainment, and a Bavarian-inspired lunch of sausages and sauerkraut. The lively atmosphere and generosity of supporters helped make this year’s Oktoberfest the most successful to date.
An incredible £10,890 was raised during the event — a fantastic achievement that will go directly towards funding projects supporting children and young people with disabilities or facing disadvantage across Leicestershire and Rutland.
Wooden Spoon extends its sincere thanks to the Leicestershire and Rutland committee for their hard work and dedication, especially Malcolm Foulkes-Arnold and Evie Margetts, whose efforts behind the scenes helped ensure the event’s smooth running and record results.
We would also like to thank the event’s generous sponsors — Launch Padd AI, Corporate Architecture Limited, Castle Estates, Dow Schofield Watts, Diamond Wood and Shaw, Ian Guyler Business Consulting, Millward Consulting Engineers, 1284 Communications, and MDA Consulting — as well as everyone who donated prizes for the raffle and auction.
Following the success of Oktoberfest, the region is already preparing for its next major celebration — St George’s Day 2026. Keep an eye out for more details soon, and if you or your organisation would like to get involved as a sponsor, the team would love to hear from you.
