Wooden Spoon Annual Conference Brings Regions Together at Sixways
Wooden Spoon’s annual conference took place over the weekend at Worcester’s home ground, Sixways Stadium, bringing together representatives from across the charity’s regional teams for two days of learning, collaboration, and celebration.
The weekend began under the Friday night lights with an exciting rugby match between the Scottish Clan and Wooden Spoon, which ended in a thrilling 53-53 draw. On Saturday, delegates enjoyed a full day of workshops, presentations, and discussions before rounding off the weekend by cheering on Worcester Warriors, who secured an impressive win over Coventry.
The event provided an excellent opportunity for networking and sharing ideas across the charity’s regional network. Delegates discussed all things Spoons – from community engagement and innovative fundraising strategies to celebrating the impact being made in local areas across the UK.
Throughout the day, each region shared updates on their achievements, showcasing a wide range of positive initiatives that continue to change the lives of children and young people. Alongside these successes, delegates also spoke openly about the challenges faced in fundraising, providing valuable insights and opportunities for shared learning and support.
It was particularly inspiring to see trustees, national staff, and volunteers all united by a shared commitment to Wooden Spoon’s mission. The atmosphere throughout was one of great energy, collaboration, and optimism for the future.
The conference concluded with a strong sense of momentum and purpose as the charity looks ahead to the coming year – building on the passion, teamwork, and dedication demonstrated throughout the weekend.
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who travelled, contributed, and made this year’s conference such a success.
