Wooden Spoon Oxfordshire Celebrates a Successful Christmas Lunch
Wooden Spoon Oxfordshire was delighted to host its Christmas Lunch 2025 on Friday 12th December at the stunning Leonardo Royal Hotel, Oxford. The event proved to be a wonderful festive occasion, bringing together supporters, friends, and guests for an afternoon of great company, exceptional food, and inspiring conversation.
Set just outside the heart of the city, the lunch was a fantastic celebration of the season and a meaningful opportunity to support Wooden Spoon’s vital work with children and young people with disabilities or those facing disadvantage.
The afternoon was expertly hosted by Andy Gomarsall MBE, former international rugby player, Wooden Spoon Ambassador, and Oxfordshire Honorary President. Andy’s warmth, humour, and strong connection to the charity ensured the event flowed seamlessly and kept guests entertained throughout.
Guests were also treated to an engaging and insightful talk from Wayne Barnes, retired international rugby referee and barrister. Drawing on his experiences officiating at the highest levels of the game, Wayne shared hilarious stories and insight into some of the top-ranked teams. His talk resonated strongly with attendees and was a highlight of the afternoon.
Alongside a delicious Christmas lunch served in elegant surroundings, guests enjoyed the opportunity to connect with fellow supporters who share a commitment to making a positive difference. The event successfully raised valuable funds, all of which will go directly towards supporting life-changing projects for children and young people across the region.
Wooden Spoon Oxfordshire would like to thank everyone who attended and supported the Christmas Lunch. Thanks to the generosity of our guests, the event was a great success and a fitting way to celebrate the festive season while supporting an important cause.
