Wooden Spoon Surrey Enjoys a Successful Rugby Clubs’ Curry Lunch
Wooden Spoon Surrey was delighted to host its Rugby Clubs’ Curry Lunch on Friday 28th November 2025 at Old Reigatian RFC. The event was a great success, bringing together members of the local rugby community for an enjoyable afternoon of good food, great company, and shared purpose.
Held in the welcoming surroundings of Old Reigatian RFC, the lunch provided a fantastic opportunity for clubs and supporters from across Surrey to come together and support Wooden Spoon’s vital work with children and young people with disabilities or those facing disadvantage.
The afternoon was expertly hosted by Ollie Phillips, whose energy and enthusiasm set the tone for a relaxed and entertaining event. Guests were also treated to an engaging talk from Peter Winterbottom, who shared stories and insights from his rugby career, captivating the audience and prompting plenty of conversation around the tables.
Guests enjoyed a delicious curry lunch while reconnecting with familiar faces and forging new links within the rugby community. The atmosphere throughout the event reflected the strong support for Wooden Spoon’s mission and the shared commitment to making a positive difference through rugby-led fundraising.
