Wooden Spoon Northumberland Swings into Action with Successful Golf Day at Arcot Hall

Wooden Spoon is delighted to share the success of the recent Northumberland Region Golf Day, held at the beautiful Arcot Hall Golf Club in Cramlington. The event was a tremendous success, with 20 full teams taking to the course for a day of golf, good company, and fundraising in support of local children and young people.

The weather could not have been kinder, and with the course in superb condition, players enjoyed an excellent pace of play and a fantastic atmosphere throughout the day.

The team at Arcot Hall provided outstanding hospitality from start to finish. Angie in the office was incredibly supportive throughout the planning process, while chef Will impressed everyone with his exceptional catering and generosity. Stu behind the bar, along with Kris and David in the pro shop, also made valuable contributions to ensure the day ran smoothly.

A big thank you also goes to Penny Petroleum for their brilliant support. Their representatives, Hannah and Emma, brought energy and enthusiasm as they travelled around the course, keeping players well-supplied with snacks and drinks — and helping with the raffle, too.

This year, the region chose to focus on a raffle instead of an auction, which proved to be a great success, raising around £2,500. In total, the day generated approximately £5,300 — a fantastic result that will go towards projects supporting disadvantaged children and young people in the Northumberland area.

Wooden Spoon extends heartfelt thanks to everyone who took part, donated prizes, or volunteered on the day. The commitment and enthusiasm of the Northumberland Region continue to make a real difference, and we are incredibly proud of their efforts.
