Lancashire Annual Lunch Raises Over £25,000 for Local Children
The Village Hotel Blackpool was abuzz with excitement as the Wooden Spoon Lancashire Annual Lunch brought together 380 guests for an unforgettable afternoon of entertainment, inspiration, and fundraising.
Star-Studded Line-Up
The event featured an incredible line-up of talent, with the lively Joey Blower serving as MC. Rugby fans were treated to insights and stories from none other than Rugby World Cup winner Ben Kay MBE and Wooden Spoon’s Honorary President Sir Bill Beaumont. The atmosphere was further enhanced by musical performances from the wonderful Paul Dobie, ensuring a truly memorable experience for all attendees.
Making a Difference
Thanks to the generosity of our guests and the support of our sponsors, the event raised an impressive £25,000. These vital funds will go directly toward supporting vulnerable children and young people in the Lancashire area.
One such initiative is the outdoor Pirate Ship at Park Community Academy in Blackpool, which provides a unique and enriching experience for students. To highlight the importance of such projects, the academy’s headteacher and several children attended the start of the event to share their heartfelt thanks and explain how these contributions make a tangible difference in their lives.
A Heartfelt Thanks
We extend our deepest gratitude to everyone who attended, donated, and supported the event. Special thanks go to our sponsors, Canaccord Genuity Group Inc., as well as our key contributors John Cole, Tom Webb, Martin Long, Napthens LLP, and the Wooden Spoon Charity team.
Thank you to Wooden Spoon Lancashire members and supporters for your generosity in 2024, we can’t wait for 2025.
