VETS FEST 2023

Wooden Sooon’s Vets Fest kicked off on Saturday at Birmingham Moseley Rugby club for the third year running. The competition was created to bring the rugby family together and give something back for the positive experiences as rugby players and supporters of the game.

Once again this year was a huge success and has raised £110,000 which will go towards supporting children and young people facing disability, disadvantage and disengagement across all the regions involved.

There were some outstanding performances during the festival including: a hat-trick from a veteran new to rugby, players returning to the game after 30+ years and a number of players still ‘rocking it’ in their 60’s.  The amazing fancy dress costumes and creatively decorated gazebos all provided a wonderful atmosphere with all home nations represented by 28 teams from over 350 rugby clubs.

We were blessed with a sunny day (well, for most of the day) and all the teams from across the UK and Ireland showcased their rugby skills and sportsmanship in what was a fantastic display of the rugby family coming together to achieve great things.

Thank you to our headline sponsors OMERTA and all of our national and regional sponsors, without whom we would not be able to run such an uplifting tournament.

The date is already set for Vets Fest 24 which will be held at Old Reigatians RFC, so please hold the date 28th September 2024 and keep an eye out for tickets when they come on sale.
