Kent Rugby Clubs Golf Challenge

Wooden Spoon Kent recently hosted their Rugby Clubs Golf Challenge, which was, as always a very succesful event that was enjoyed by all. Here is an update on the event from Peter Johnston.

“31 teams of four playing at Redlibbets with the best two Stableford points to count on each hole.

Competition was extremely tight this year with 19 teams scoring between 86 & 93 points.

This year’s winners were Royal Arsenal Tag Rugby Club on 93, with Vigo RFC “B’ on 92 to finish second on count back with 49 points on the back 9. In 3rd place was Swanley RFC with 47 points on the back 9.

Back in the clubhouse the atmosphere was buzzing, always the case when rugby people get together. This really helped our MC/Auctioner, Adger Brown, who did an amazing job with the auction. Joan Wells ensured that photos were taken of the teams and prize winners.

Thanks to the generosity of everyone we raised just over £8,000.00, an excellent achievement in these difficult economic times.”
