Being 21 is special don’t you think? 2022 Guernsey Regions 21st Anniversary year, so this deserved a special legend celebration ’A Night with the Home Nations’
On Friday 15th July 2022, Duke of Richmond Hotel hosted a delicious three course dinner for 175 guests. The night was filled with great rugby stories and great rivalry of the Home Nations.
The evening was attended by a host of fantastic former internationals who regaled their audience with tales of their glittering rugby careers:
Kyran Bracken ~ England, Club Career 1992- 2006 Bristol and Saracens
International Career 1993- 2003 51 Caps Our incredible host for the evening, a 2003 world-cup winning former England player. Kyran had everyone laughing right from the start.
Colin Charvis ~ Wales Club Career 1992-2009 London Welsh , Swansea, Tarbes, Newcastle, Dragons. International Career 1996-2007 Wales 94 caps British & Irish Lions 2001 Colin has over 90 caps for Wales and captain also played for the British and Irish Lions.

Paul Wallace ~ Ireland Club Career 1996- 2003 Saracens and Leinster. 1995–2002 Ireland, 1997 British & Irish Lions Paul played tight head prop for Ireland with 46 caps and the British & Irish Lions.
Due to unforeseen circumstance Paul stepped in for Shane Byrne at the very last minute, 18 hours before the event! For which we are very grateful as his stories bought an extra dimension to the evening
During the event we played the traditional heads and tails, held a raffle with incredible star prizes. An auction was provided by Exceed Auctions which raised more than the region ever has on silent Auctions before. Each of the players donated a shirt from their nation which they signed, and were live auctioned, Colin even donated one of his Lions shirts, which was an incredible gift!
Kyran managed the panel with Q&A’s and the time went by so quickly everyone felt they could have had another hour with them.
The total amount raised was £16,344.00 which was a record for Wooden Spoon Guernsey and a great amount to celebrate being 21!
