Surrey Golfers Tee Off for Charity
THE Wooden Spoon Surrey Annual Golf Day was very well supported with 20 four-ball teams enjoying a wonderful day at Cuddington Golf Club on Thursday 2 September 2021.
The weather was kind, the course was challenging and the standard of golf on display of a pleasingly high standard!
Regretfully, the Wooden Spoon All Stars team, captained by Wooden Spoon Surrey Honorary President, John Inverdale, didn’t manage to feature on the prize winners’ rostrum. However, having MC’d the excellent post-golf dinner with his usual mix of good humour and golfing tales, he then presented prizes to the players who had fared much better during the day.
In the photo below, he can be seen with team winners and perennial Wooden Spoon Surrey supporters, Mike Grieshaber’s Mavericks.
We would like to say a huge thank you to all those who attended and helped to raised over £4,000 on the day to support children and young people in the local community.
