Surrey Sportsman’s Dinner Success

WOODEN Spoon Surrey held their annual Sportsman’s Dinner once again in the splendid surroundings of The Royal Automobile Country Club, near Epsom on Wednesday 15 September 2021.

A wonderful turnout of over 150 rugby folk enjoyed a first-class meal in the company of Wooden Spoon Surrey Honorary President, John Inverdale, and the Harlequins and England scrum-half supremo, Danny Care.

Following the dinner, the pair provided some wonderful entertainment including a ‘Rugby Q & A’ during which Danny provided some very illuminating insights into the ways of Eddie Jones’ coaching techniques in the England training camp plus an impassioned review of Harlequins’ stunning victories which resulted in the club becoming Premiership Champions last season.

Over £6,000 was raised on the night which will be spent on life-changing projects in the local area.

Thank you to everyone who attended and made the evening one to truly remember!
