Wayne Barnes referees Windsor U16s game
HOT ON the heels of officiating the Bath vs Leicester Premiership game at Twickenham on Saturday 7th April, international referee Wayne Barnes visited Windsor RFC the next day to take charge of the Windsor RFC Under 16s League game vs Witney RFC Under 16s.
This was as a result of a successful auction bid at the 2017 annual Wooden Spoon Ball by a table of guests from Windsor RFC.
The day was grass roots Junior rugby at it’s very best… pouring rain, soaking pitch, and highly emotional and vocal spectators. The boys from both teams displayed a high degree of enthusiasm, skill and commitment, albeit in very difficult conditions, with Witney RFC ending up as the eventual winners.
Wooden Spoon Chilterns would like to thank Wayne Barnes for giving up his time during a very busy officiating rugby season, and to Paul Harrison, Alan Davies and Tracey Keogh from Windsor RFC for involving Wooden Spoon Chilterns to join the occasion.
