Rugby fundraiser welcomes Belgium Tuatagaloa

ON 7th May Bury St Edmunds RFC hosted a rugby fundraiser, the 9th Annual 7s Festival, with a very competitive listing of strong international sides including WS Mauraders.

Four nations and two Premiership sides, featuring a number of international players, headed by Samoa 7’s giant Belgium Tuatagaloa, in holders Samurai Barracuda’s squad.

The Open tournament saw home side Bury Barbarians make it to the final before losing to one of the Samurai development sides, only after a golden score try in extra-time after the score at full-time was 24 apiece.

The Elite winners were The British Army beating Samurai Barracudas 36-5 in final.

Eastern Counties region was represented on the day by Alan Line (Treasurer) and Seamus Farrelly (Chairman) and raised funds for the regions upcoming projects.
