Sportsman’s Dinner raises £9,000

ON 18th May Eastern Counties hosted a Sportsman’s dinner in support of the upcoming charity cycle ride. More than 130 guests attended the evening held at Diss RFC where nominated heads of each table carved the beef attired in hospital theatre scrubs which added a humorous tone to the evening.

After an excellent dinner David Trick, ex-Bath RFC, England and current Bath RFC President, gave an excellent recounting of his playing days with some hilarious anecdotes.

The auction and raffle items added to the sum raised with topped £9,000.00.

These funds will be added to sponsorship sums already raised and at present, the original target of £50,000 has been well exceeded and we have now set our sights on reaching a six-figure final sum by September.
