Water Training Reservoir Opens in Guernsey with £10,225 Funding Boost

A Water Training Reservoir, a scouting and outdoor education project in the field of youth development and adventure training, has opened in Guernsey with a funding boost of £10,225. This project, was built create a safe and engaging water-based training facility for young people.

Supporting Youth Development Through Adventure

This new water training reservoir, which opened on 19th June 2024 in the Island Scout HQ, provides a unique space where young people can build confidence, develop water safety skills, and experience adventure in a supportive environment. As part of the Guernsey Scouts initiative, the project aligns with their mission to promote fun, friendship, and personal growth through outdoor experiences. By offering exciting activities in a safe setting, the facility helps young people learn more, do more, and be more.

This water training reservoir was generously funded by a Wooden Spoon Charity grant. Wooden Spoon supports Guernsey Scouts’ commitment to creating inclusive, community-focused opportunities for young people to develop essential life skills through adventure.
