Northern Ireland Autism Centre Sensory Room
IrelandNorthern Ireland Autism Centre Sensory Room, an initiative in the field of autism support and sensory therapy, has launched in Carryduff with a funding boost of £15,600. This project, aimed at creating an enriched sensory environment to support young autistic individuals, is set to have a significant impact on the local community.
The new sensory equipment at the Northern Ireland Autism Centre includes soft floor, soft wall, and computer games equipment. These additions are designed to provide a supportive environment for young people participating in day services and programs, helping them gain new skills, explore hobbies, and build friendships in a safe, comfortable setting.
With over three years of experience meeting the unique needs of service users, the Autism Centre is expanding its facilities to create an even more supportive and engaging environment for young autistic individuals in Northern Ireland. This new sensory room and its state-of-the-art equipment will foster positive social and developmental experiences.
The project was made possible by the Wooden Spoon Charity, which is dedicated to funding life-changing projects for children and young people across the UK and Ireland. Their generous support will help the Northern Ireland Autism Centre create an inclusive space tailored to the needs of its participants, enhancing both learning and wellbeing.
