New Funding Gives GB Wheelchair Rugby a Lift
NationalGBWR Wheelchair Support at Great Britain Wheelchair Rugby Ltd and Young & Co.’s Brewery, P.L.C, a Health & Wellbeing project operating nationally, has been awarded a grant of £27,000.
This project aims to provide specialist wheelchair support to athletes, enabling more people with disabilities to participate in wheelchair rugby at all levels, as well as sponsorship for the Junior Programme. This project is set to have a significant impact on the community of wheelchair rugby players across the UK.
Great Britain Wheelchair Rugby (GBWR) is the national governing body for the game of wheelchair rugby in England, Scotland, and Wales. It is a registered charity and company limited by guarantee, a full member of World Wheelchair Rugby (WWR), and a member of the British Paralympic Association (BPA).
This new project, which opens soon, provides a state-of-the-art equipment and support services designed to help players develop their skills, improve their fitness, and compete at all levels of the sport.
The project has been generously funded by a grant from Wooden Spoon, the children’s charity of rugby. Wooden Spoon supports GBWR Wheelchair Support’s dedication to creating inclusive, empowering spaces for people with disabilities that foster wellbeing and growth.
