Multi-Use Games Area (MUGA) Opens in Merseyside with £10,000 Funding Boost

.

The MUGA, a sports and recreation facility for inclusive physical education, has opened in Merseyside with a funding boost of £10,000. This project, aimed at creating a safe and engaging space for children and young people to develop their physical skills and teamwork, is set to have a significant impact on the local community.

A New Space for Play and Growth

St Vincents school is for blind and visually impaired pupils ages 5 to 19 years old. It is committed to providing a safe and caring teaching and learning environment where students can love, live, learn, and grow in the community. The addition of the MUGA will enhance opportunities for physical activity, team sports, and social interaction, encouraging both fitness and well-being among young people.

This new multi-use games area, which opened in December 2024, provides a dynamic and inclusive environment designed to help children of all abilities connect, develop confidence, and enjoy active play in a supportive space.

Funded by Wooden Spoon

This MUGA was generously funded by a Wooden Spoon Charity grant. Wooden Spoon supports the school’s dedication to creating safe and inclusive spaces that foster wellbeing and growth through sport and education.
