Fully Equipped Sensory Room: Empowering Young Learners in Wales

The Fully Equipped Sensory Room funded by £7,500 grant, a specialised learning and development space, has opened in Wales. This project, aimed at creating a calming and stimulating environment for children aged 3-7 years to explore and grow, is set to have a significant impact on the local community.

Canolfan Enfys MOLD has the vision to “Encourage Every Child to Shine,” the project seeks to provide real-life and rich learning experiences, empowering young learners to become independent and confident communicators who are at the heart of the community.

This new sensory room, which opened on the 6th of March 2025, offers a calming and out-of-this-world environment designed to help children of the school connect, relax, and thrive in a supportive space.

The project was generously funded by a Wooden Spoon Charity grant. Wooden Spoon supports the initiative’s dedication to creating safe and inclusive spaces that foster wellbeing and growth for children at a critical stage in their development.

There were also children, who were non-verbal, who were standing at the equipment with fish floating in bubbles who said their first word… FISH!
