Cosgrove Care Sensory Space

Glasgow

Cosgrove Care Sensory Space, a Sensory Space project in the field of disability and neurodiversity support, has opened in Essex with a funding boost of £13,000. This project, aimed at creating a safe and calming haven for neurodiverse children to retreat, regulate, and thrive, is set to have a significant impact on the local community.

Cosgrove Care is dedicated to improving the lives of people with additional needs and their families, ensuring they have access to the same opportunities as everyone else. By offering person-led and outcome-focused support, tailored to individual needs and lifestyles, Cosgrove provides invaluable advice and information across West Central Scotland to anyone who needs it.

This new Sensory Space, which opened in January 2024, provides a calming and supportive environment designed to help children connect, relax, and explore their emotions in a controlled and nurturing space. Equipped with tools that engage the senses, this resource is essential for reducing anxiety, managing stress, and fostering development and learning in neurodiverse children.

This Sensory Space was generously funded by a Wooden Spoon Charity grant. Wooden Spoon supports Cosgrove Care’s dedication to creating safe and inclusive spaces that foster wellbeing and growth.
