Bringing Magic to the Ward: The Enchanting World of our New Children’s Hospital Projector
Dorset & WiltshireWooden Spoon’s Dorset, Wiltshire & Hampshire Regional Chairman Brett Bader joined ambassador Peter Hull MBE to officially open a project in partnership with Southampton Hospitals Charity at the University Hospital, Southampton.
Funds raised locally at regional events over the past year or so have been committed to supporting the purchase of a ‘SenseFlex Projector’ which will be used extensively throughout the children wards at the hospital.
The projector is able to project pictures, games, graphics as well as videos etc and due to the fact it’s a mobile unit it means it can be taken to different locations, moved around, and able to be set up bedside for those children unable to leave their ward. The hospital itself has 50-60 children visit weekly and staff have said how popular the equipment is and how well received it’s been for all those that have used it.
Wooden Spoon ambassador Peter Hull commented
“It’s great to be able to see the projector first hand, to see it in action, and more importantly to see it being used and to speak to the staff about the impact it’s had for them and the children. It’s yet another example of the considerable impact Wooden Spoon has and I’d like to thank Brett and his regional team for their efforts in fundraising and identifying suitable projects.”
