174 Trust Quiet Room & Soft Play Area
UlsterWooden Spoon Quiet Room and Soft Play Area at 174 Trust, a Sensory Space project featuring a Quiet Room and Soft Play Area, in Ulster, has been awarded a grant of £30,000. This project, aimed at supporting children and young people with additional needs by providing calming and stimulating sensory environments, is set to have a significant impact on the local community.
The Wooden Spoon Quiet Room and Soft Play Area builds on the long-standing work of 174 Trust, a charity established in 1983. Dedicated to providing a local Christian witness free from denominational bias or sectarian prejudice, the organisation has been a vital part of community life for over four decades.
This new Sensory Space, opening on the 27th of November, provides a specially designed environment to support the emotional and developmental needs of children and young people. The space combines a quiet room and soft play area, creating a calming, therapeutic setting that helps reduce anxiety, improve focus, and promote wellbeing through gentle sensory stimulation.
This Sensory Space was generously funded by a Wooden Spoon charity grant. Wooden Spoon proudly supports 174 Trust and its dedication to creating inclusive and nurturing environments that foster wellbeing, connection, and growth.
