If you’re looking to make a difference in your local community, take on a challenge for Wooden Spoon. You could attempt your first 5k run, take part in a marathon, or do a charity head shave! Any idea is a good idea, we like to see creativity and we want to put the fun in fundraising.

James Caviel successfully completed the Deloitte Ride Across Britain, which saw him pedaling 980 miles from Land’s End to John O’Groats. His fundraising challenge raised over £2,500 for Wooden Spoon, even though it was once feared he would never walk again!
There are lots of ways you can get involved with the UK’s leading rugby charity both as a rugby club and a rugby player.
Malton & Norton RUFC‘s women’s squad showed a willingness to get their hands dirty in the name of Wooden Spoon. Members of the team tackled a Tough Mudder course and raised over £1,200, enduring trench crawls, cargo nets and electric shocks.

Ask your students to wear Wooden Spoon stripy socks for a match and help to raise vital funds for local projects. Join schools up and down the country raising money for children in their local area.
Infant and Junior Schools
There’s lots of easy ways you can raise money for us:
- Host a mufti day and ask each pupil to donate £1
- Sell Wooden Spoon wristbands at your school fair
- Run, walk or wheel a daily mile for a week and ask your pupils to get sponsored
