Celebrity cricket match raises over £11,000 for Wooden Spoon Manchester and Cheshire

Wooden Spoon Manchester and Cheshire’s annual Celebrity Charity Cricket Match proved another outstanding success, raising more than £11,000 to help fund life-changing projects for children and young people living with disabilities or facing disadvantage.

Held at Alderley Edge Cricket Club, the exciting T20 fixture brought together a fantastic mix of sporting stars, business leaders and supporters for a memorable day of cricket, community and fundraising.

The match saw Sticky Wicket XI, featuring players from leading North West businesses alongside special guest Adnan Miakhel, take on the Wooden Spoon XI All Stars. The Wooden Spoon side included former footballer and manager Andy Ritchie, ex-England and Sale Sharks rugby player Steve Hanley, former Sale Sharks and England international Tommy Taylor, former Sale Sharks and Ulster player Will Addison, Warwickshire cricketer Tom Mees, England Over-40s player James Duffy, and talented cricketers from Cheshire, Lancashire, Australia and South Africa.

Spectators were treated to a thrilling contest that went right down to the wire, with Sticky Wicket XI securing a dramatic one-run victory in the final over.

The event was proudly supported by Topaz Detailing, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars Manchester, and McLaren Manchester. Guests were welcomed by an impressive display of luxury vehicles, including a Rolls-Royce Cullinan, Rolls-Royce Ghost, McLaren, Ferrari SP3, LaFerrari and Aston Martin Zagato, adding an extra touch of glamour to the occasion.
