Cornwall Golf Day tees up another fantastic fundraising success

Wooden Spoon Cornwall’s annual Golf Day returned to Tehidy Park Golf Club on Friday 3 July 2026, bringing together supporters, sponsors and golfers for another memorable day of fundraising in support of disadvantaged children and young people across Cornwall.

With glorious sunshine, outstanding hospitality from Tehidy Park Golf Club and fantastic support from local businesses, the event proved to be another huge success. Golfers embraced the spirit of the day, enjoying a fantastic round of golf while helping raise vital funds that will support life-changing projects for children and young people across the region.

The Wooden Spoon Cornwall committee would like to thank everyone who played a part in making the event such a success.

A special thank you goes to Geraint Elvans, whose dedication and organisation once again ensured the day ran seamlessly from start to finish. His hard work behind the scenes was instrumental in making the event another outstanding success.

The charity is also incredibly grateful to Leigh Ibbotson of Cher Varya Group and Richard Palmer of The Headland Hotel, Newquay, for their generous support as hole sponsors. Thanks also go to James Levick, General Manager of Tehidy Park Golf Club, and the club’s grounds team for their help in organising the day, as well as Sam and Mel, who kept registration and scoring running smoothly throughout the event.

Guests enjoyed excellent catering from Cygnetts Restaurant, while Justin Barnett of Inn Cornwall kindly provided refreshments at the 11th hole, helping to keep players refreshed as they made their way around the course.

The raffle and silent auction were another highlight of the day, made possible thanks to the generosity of many supporters. Raffle prizes were kindly donated by Mark Roberts of Co-op Truro, Redruth RFC, Martin Nicholas of Moët and West Cornwall Golf Club. Silent auction prizes were generously provided by James and Jonathan from Tehidy Park Golf Club, Max Stockwell of Bowood Park Golf Club, Nigel and Will Eustice of Halwyn, Crantock, and Bowood Park Golf Club.

Wooden Spoon Cornwall would also like to thank its valued corporate supporters for their continued generosity. Crantock Properties, LWC Drinks, Miller Commercial, Stephens Scown, Handelsbanken, Rodda’s, Vospers, Penventon Park Hotel, Aqua Rod and Seaways Services all played an important part in helping make the event such a success.

Congratulations also go to this year’s winners, Camborne Clubman (Camborne RFC), who claimed the top prize after an excellent day’s golf.

Your generosity will help Wooden Spoon continue funding projects that give children and young people with disabilities or facing disadvantage the opportunity to play, learn and thrive.
