Leicestershire and Rutland Golf Day Raises £6,000 for Wooden Spoon

Wooden Spoon Leicestershire and Rutland held its Annual Golf Day on a glorious Thursday in June, bringing together supporters for a day of friendly competition, fundraising, and fun.

The sold-out event saw 18 teams tee off in a “shotgun start” at the historic Leicestershire Golf Club, located on the outskirts of Leicester. Perfect weather conditions made for some impressive Stableford scores, and players were kept refreshed by the ever-popular “halfway house” watering hole.

After an enjoyable afternoon on the course, teams gathered for dinner and the much-anticipated prize raffle, where laughter and generosity flowed in equal measure.

In total, the event raised close to £6,000 for Wooden Spoon, helping to fund life-changing projects that support disadvantaged and disabled children and young people across the UK and Ireland.

It was a wonderful day for golf, community, and giving back – a big thank you to everyone who took part, supported, and helped make the Leicestershire and Rutland Annual Golf Day such a success.
