Donna Kennedy Joins Wooden Spoon Worcestershire as Honorary Ambassador
Wooden Spoon is delighted to announce rugby legend Donna Kennedy as the new Honorary Ambassador of its Worcestershire region, coinciding with her recent induction into the World Rugby Hall of Fame.
With 115 international caps—the first Scottish player, male or female, to reach the milestone—Donna is one of rugby’s most respected figures. Her career highlights include captaining Scotland, five World Cup appearances, and winning the Grand Slam in 1998. All of her caps were earned from starting positions, reflecting her remarkable drive and consistency.
Now a coach, mentor, and charity trustee, Donna continues to use her experience to inspire others. Her appointment at Wooden Spoon reflects her deep belief in the power of sport to create positive change.
“I’m incredibly honoured to become an Honorary Ambassador of Wooden Spoon in the Worcestershire region,” said Donna. “The charity’s work using the power of rugby to support children and young people facing challenges is something I care deeply about. I’ve seen how sport can change lives, and I’m excited to support the incredible efforts being made here in Worcestershire to make a real difference in our communities.”
Vince Hopkins, Chair of Wooden Spoon Worcestershire, added: “We’re delighted to enlist Donna as our Honorary Ambassador. Her record-breaking international career speaks volumes for her focus and determination. That same passion will support our mission to change the lives of disadvantaged children across the county.”
Wooden Spoon is proud to welcome Donna as part of the team and looks forward to working together to continue making a meaningful impact through rugby.
