£103,500 Raised at Worcestershire Christmas Curry Club

A Spectacular Start to the Festive Season

Wooden Spoon Worcestershire is thrilled that their Christmas Curry Club raised an incredible £103,500 for local charitable causes!

A heartfelt thank you goes out to everyone who joined us at this festive event. Over 110 attendees packed the room, filling it with Christmas cheer, generosity, and community spirit. The day was alive with fun and festivity, including a lively raffle and music bingo, which, along with the continued sponsorship of Hayward Wright Accountants, brought in an impressive £3,500.

A Remarkable Legacy Donation

We were also honored to receive a truly transformative legacy donation of £100,000. This generous gift was presented by Derek Taylor, a former solicitor and WRFC player, who attended the event with his daughter and grandson. Acting as executor, Derek handed over the cheque on behalf of the donor’s estate, marking a historic moment for Wooden Spoon Worcestershire.

These funds are earmarked exclusively for Worcestershire-based projects, and we’re committed to ensuring they support meaningful local causes. Stay tuned for updates on how these funds will make a difference in our community.

Thank you to Wooden Spoon Worcestershire members and supporters for your generosity in 2024, we can’t wait for 2025.
