Sun Shines Bright on Dorset, Wilts & Hampshire Golf Day

Golfers enjoyed a fantastic day of competition and camaraderie at Romsey Golf Club on Friday, 18 October, for the annual Wooden Spoon Dorset, Wiltshire & Hampshire (DWH) Regional Golf Day. Nine teams from across the region teed off on the picturesque course, which provided a perfect setting for the event.

Despite heavy rain in the days leading up to the event, the skies cleared, delivering glorious sunshine for the tournament. The day proved both enjoyable and competitive, with impressive performances from all teams. Participants not only competed in a team-based golf competition but also came together to raise funds for important local projects that support vulnerable children and their families in the DWH area.

Congratulations to the winners, Assure Health Care, who claimed the top team prize and bragging rights as the 2024 champions. At the other end of the leaderboard, Romsey Rugby Club took home the symbolic wooden spoons, embracing the lighthearted spirit of the event.

The day included not just golf but also a delicious meal and a lively raffle. All proceeds raised during the event will remain in the region, funding locally approved projects that bring positive change to the lives of those in need.

Special thanks go to Marc and the team at Romsey Golf Club for hosting and ensuring a seamless day of activities.

The Wooden Spoon DWH Regional Golf Day will return next year, offering another opportunity to enjoy a wonderful day of golf while making a difference. For more information about the annual golf day or other fundraising events in the region, contact mbishop@woodenspoon.org.uk.
