Eastern Counties Recruit New Committee
Exciting Developments for Wooden Spoon Charity’s Eastern Counties Region
Since the onset of COVID-19, many charities, including Wooden Spoon, have faced significant challenges. Our Eastern Counties region, in particular, has struggled to regain its momentum. However, there is now a beacon of hope on the horizon. The success of our VetsFest event, now in its third year, has catalyzed a rejuvenation, bringing in new volunteers inspired by the festival and the charity’s mission.
We are thrilled to announce that, with the support of our national office regional team, a brand-new committee has been formed for the Eastern Counties. This new team, composed of dedicated individuals, will be co-chaired in its first year by Adi Illingworth and John Clements, both long-standing supporters and fundraisers for Wooden Spoon.
Matt Bishop, our Regions Manager, expressed his enthusiasm:
“I’m delighted to be announcing and sharing the news of this newly formed committee. I’m grateful for the work of previous members, in particular Alan Line, who were all instrumental in the regional activities ‘pre-COVID’. Since meeting several of the new members at VetsFest 23 and some at other fundraising events, it’s really evident that there is a desire to reinvigorate the region and to work collaboratively in order to raise funds that will have a life-changing impact on children in their region. The committee have some great energy and ideas amongst the group, and Sam and I are looking forward to supporting and working closely with them all to achieve some exciting outcomes.”
