Wooden Spoon MLD Schools Tag Rugby Festival a Resounding Success at Fylde Rugby Football Club

The Wooden Spoon ‘MLD Schools Tag Rugby Festival’ held at Fylde Rugby Football Club was a tremendous success, bringing together 10 schools and over 100 children from across Lancashire. The event, delivered by Fylde Rugby Community Foundation and funded by the Wooden Spoon Charity, provided an exciting and inclusive day of rugby for all participants.

Children from various schools had a fantastic time, benefiting from both the spirited competition and the collaborative teamwork required in the sport. Each child left the event with a well-deserved medal, presented by Martin Long and David Chapman, in recognition of their effort and enthusiasm.

We extend our hearty congratulations to Tor View School from Haslingden for emerging as the festival winners. Park Community Academy from Blackpool also performed exceptionally well, finishing as close runners-up.

Events like the MLD Schools Tag Rugby Festival embody Wooden Spoon’s mission to positively impact the lives of children and young people through the power of rugby. We are thrilled to see the joy and camaraderie this event brought to the participants and look forward to many more successful festivals in the future.
