Berwick RFC Raises £1,200 for Wooden Spoon

A Remarkable Contribution to Children’s Charities

Berwick Rugby Club has once again demonstrated its commitment to making a positive impact in the community. Through their recent fundraising efforts, they successfully raised an impressive £1,200 for Wooden Spoon Northumberland, a charity dedicated to improving the lives of disadvantaged and disabled children through rugby-related initiatives.

The Wooden Spoon Raffle

The heartwarming success story unfolded during the derby game against local club Alnwick RFC, where members and supporters of both clubs came together to purchase tickets. Their generosity not only fueled the excitement of the raffle but also contributed significantly to the charity’s mission.  Berwick RFC is quite unique, being a member of both the Rugby Football Union and the Scottish Rugby Union and the prizes reflect this, being signed shirts from both England and Scotland.

Making a Difference

The funds raised by Berwick RFC will directly benefit local children in Northumberland, providing them with opportunities to participate in rugby programs, access essential resources, and experience the joy of sports. Wooden Spoon Northumberland’s tireless efforts ensure that every pound raised goes toward creating positive change in young lives.

A Community Effort

The achievement wouldn’t have been possible without the collective spirit of the Berwick rugby community. From players and coaches to fans and sponsors, everyone played a vital role in this remarkable fundraising endeavor.

Looking Ahead

As we celebrate this achievement, let’s continue supporting Wooden Spoon Northumberland and championing the cause of children’s well-being. Whether through raffles, events, or direct donations, every contribution matters.

Thank you, Berwick RFC, for exemplifying the true spirit of rugby and making a difference where it counts the most!
