A Memorable Night at Worcestershire’s St. George’s Day Quiz

The St. George’s Day Quiz was a resounding success, bringing together 140 enthusiastic guests for an evening of entertainment at Worcester’s Rugby Club. The night was centred around an English theme, with attendees showcasing creative outfits.

Quizmaster Jon Fraser played the role of Henry VIII with flair and humour, even accompanied by his own executioner. The audience enjoyed watching him embrace the role with much gusto, bringing a lively and engaging atmosphere to the quiz. His unique take on the historical character made the event one to remember.

The quiz itself was a highlight of the evening, with two of Henry VIII’s “wives” serving as quiz markers, only to meet their untimely fates at the hands of the executioner. The light-hearted theatrics added an element of surprise and delight, contributing to the overall enjoyment of the night.

Guests were treated to a classic English meal of sausage and mash, enhancing the theme and creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere.

Thanks to the generous support of attendees and sponsors such as Assure Technology, the event raised over £3,000. Vince Hopkins, Chairman of Wooden Spoon Worcestershire, expressed his gratitude for the successful fundraiser, saying, “It’s a great amount to raise, but more importantly, everyone enjoyed the evening, which was more of a show with a quiz attached. Jon was outstanding in preparation and his role, and we extend our thanks to all who attended and supported the event.”
