Gala dinner raises large sum for Bristol, Bath & Somerset
THE beginning of September saw Wooden Spoon Bristol, Bath & Somerset‘s inaugural Gala Black Tie Dinner & Auction.
Held at the impressive Wills Memorial Building courtesy of The University of Bristol, where over 260 people to part in the champagne reception and three-course meal.
The Bristol, Bath & Somerset Regional Ambassadors were on hand to keep everyone entertained including Dave Atwood, Harry Thacker, Piers O’Conor, Sarah Bern and Phil de Glanville.
The dinner had a British and Irish Lions theme with Andy Nicol, the MC and Auctioneer, running the evening. The “Ultimate Lion” Jason Leonard joined Andy Nicol for the Q&A.
Live entertainment was provided by Opera-lele which was followed by the Raffle, Silent Auction and Live Auctions.
One of the regional supporters who bid for and won a wedding venue in Scotland then proceeded to propose to his partner – who said yes! A Wooden Spoon first!
Over £25,000 was raised on the night to fund life-changing projects to support children and young people with disabilities or facing disadvantage in the local area. This fantastic result has taken Wooden Spoon Bristol, Bath & Somerset halfway to their target for the next 12 months.
