Shane’s seven day series of strenuous cycles
WOODEN Spoon Ambassador Shane Williams is no stranger to battling tough terrain and challenges for Wooden Spoon, and his recent fundraiser is no different.
Last week, Shane set himself a challenge of cycling 774-miles on his Zwift bike to ensure all of the cancelled sporting events he was due to take part in for charity would still go ahead – virtually.
The challenge took place over seven days, finishing on the 28 April, with the ride being split into 14 segments of 55.3 miles per session.
Shane set himself a target of raising £5,000, and has so far raised over £11,500. Many people joined him along the way, with each participant choosing to do a variety of different distances to keep him company.
Exactly one year on after taking part in the LMAX Exchange Everest Rugby Challenge, Shane is maintaining his fundraising spirit as he even had time to complete a #TwoPointSixChallenge for Wooden Spoon on Sunday 26 April.
Wooden Spoon would like to thank Shane for his exceptional fundraising during what is an uncertain time for charities, and also everyone who has donated to his fundraiser. You can still donate to his page here.
