Annual Eastern Counties Lunch at Peterborough RFC
For the 10th year running Peterborough RFC put on their Wooden Spoon lunch in support of the Eastern Counties Region.
Over 130 sat down for a very fine lunch before the club’s game against Rushden and Higham RFC. All were treated to a potted history of Wooden Spoon by David Hannam who with the assistance of his daughter Katie help lay up the marquee in Wooden Spoon colours.
After a few words from Chairman of Peterborough, Dick Clark, Seamus Farrelly Chair for Eastern Counties gave a resume of the regions fundraising and project openings over the past year finishing off with a plug for the region’s 3 day charity cycle ride over 320 miles in September.
After raffle and auction all moved out to watch a very one-sided game, with the home side running out winners at 89-0.
The day was a great success and raised almost £1500.00 for the region’s upcoming projects.
Eastern Counties would like to thank all at the club for their continued support over the years and look forward to next year.
