£15,000 Grant From Wooden Spoon Worcestershire Funds New Discovery Garden and Harmony Room at Squirrels Nursery
WorcestershireDiscovery Garden and Harmony Room at Squirrels Nursery, a Sensory Space project, has been awarded a grant of £15,000 from Wooden Spoon Worcestershire.
This project, aimed at providing a new outdoor sensory garden for pre-school children in one of the UK’s most deprived areas, while also renewing much-needed equipment in the existing sensory room, is set to have a significant impact on the local community. Squirrels Nursery, part of YMCA Worcestershire, provides nursery and childcare services for children aged 2, 3, and 4 in Redditch.
This new sensory space, which opened on the 25th of November, provides a calming and engaging environment designed to help young children explore, learn, and develop through play.
The Discovery Garden and Harmony Room refurbishment was generously funded by a Wooden Spoon Charity grant. Wooden Spoon supports Squirrels Nursery’s dedication to creating safe, stimulating spaces that foster wellbeing, confidence, and growth.
