Wooden Spoon Worcester fund 2 new Acheeva Beds at Chadsgrove School

Worcestershire

On the 18th of June 2025, members of the Wooden Spoon Worcester Committee, sponsors Tom Manton-Jones and Laura Osborne and Wooden Spoon Ambassador and Scottish rugby legend Donna Kennedy, visited one of our latest projects at Chadsgrove School, Catshill.

A donation of £15,000 has enabled the school to purchase two Acheeva Beds which are are height-adjustable, mobile therapy beds designed to help children with special needs learn how to move independently.

Committee Member John Sitch said, “Seeing first hand the difference that projects like these make to children’s lives is truly wonderful and we couldn’t do it without all of the support from our fantastic members and sponsors”.

Donna Kennedy, Wooden Spoon Ambassador said, “Visiting Chadsgrove School yesterday was truly moving. Seeing the difference the Acheeva Beds are already making. Enabling students to be more involved with their peers, brought home just how powerful our support can be. I’m so proud to be part of Wooden Spoon Worcestershire and so grateful to everyone who helps make projects like this possible”.

Rachel Burton, Physical Support Lead of Chadsgrove School said, “We are incredibly grateful for the support from Wooden Spoon, Worcester.  These Acheeva beds play a vital role in supporting our pupils by providing a comfortable and adjustable space where they can fully participate in the school day. Whether it’s for learning, resting or physical interventions, the Acheeva bed enables pupils with complex, physical and medical needs to remain in the classroom environment”.
