Wooden Spoon Bedfordshire Grant to Support Play Sessions for Families in Bedfordshire
BedfordshireWooden Spoon Bedfordshire provided a grant of £1,500 to SendiTots for play sessions for children with additional needs. This initiative, aimed at supporting children, is set to make a meaningful impact on the local community by giving children a chance to play in a calm, safe, and nurturing space.
About the Play Sessions at SendiTots
Wooden Spoon funds play sessions for small children with additional needs. Many parents of children with ADHD, autism, and other neurodiverse conditions find it challenging to attend universal services where they feel judged and unheard. SendiTots provides a safe environment where children can play, and parents can access advice and support.
The play sessions offer parents a chance to better understand their child’s needs. They also support parents in finding specialist nursery places and help with the application process for Education Health Plans.
Wooden Spoon Bedfordshire Chair, Oliver Richbell, visited the SendiTots opening and commented:
“Seeing first hand the amazing work of the SendiTots programme, and the families and children it supports, acutely highlights the positive impact the support Wooden Spoon can provide.”
