Thriving Together: Dyffryn Dragons Rugby
WalesThriving Together is a Health & Wellbeing project focused on equipment and kit storage, in Wales, and has been awarded a grant of £1,750 from Wooden Spoon Wales. This project, aimed at supporting young people by increasing access to sport and physical activity, is set to have a positive and lasting impact on the local community.
Thriving Together builds on the work of Dyffryn Dragons, a volunteer-run junior rugby team in the Amman Valley dedicated to supporting and developing young players. As a non-traditional team in terms of funding eligibility, they rely heavily on fundraising and local community support to continue their mission.
This new equipment and kit store, soon to open, will provide a secure and accessible space to store sports equipment and kits. It is designed not only for Dyffryn Dragons but also to support other children in the area who may not have the kit needed to participate in sport. The facility will help invite children of similar ages from surrounding villages and communities to engage in physical activity, encouraging inclusivity and wellbeing through team sport.
This Health & Wellbeing project was generously funded by a Wooden Spoon charity grant. Wooden Spoon is proud to support Dyffryn Dragons Rugby and its commitment to creating inclusive environments that promote health, community engagement, and personal development.
