January 2023 Food Bank: Supporting Families in Telford

The January 2023 Food Bank, a community support initiative in the field of food security and family assistance, has opened in Shropshire with a funding boost of £500. This project, aimed at creating a reliable resource to help families stay fed and access additional support services, is set to have a significant impact on the local community.

Telford Community Grocery is now open, providing essential resources for the people of Telford. The initiative is designed to keep families nourished while also giving members access to much-needed support and assistance.

This new food bank, which opened in May 2024, provides a calming and out-of-this-world environment designed to help members of all ages connect, relax, and explore in a supportive space.

The project was generously funded by a Wooden Spoon Charity grant. Wooden Spoon supports the food bank’s dedication to creating safe and inclusive spaces that foster wellbeing and growth for local families in need.
