A New Sensory Courtyard for Lliswerry Primary School
This new sensory courtyard opened on 26th March 2025 in Newport, Wales and provides a quiet and engaging outdoor space designed to support pupils with complex autistic and SLD needs. Previously, the courtyard area was dilapidated and uninviting, but with the addition of a coloured walkway and improved surfaces, it has been transformed into a calming and inclusive environment where pupils can feel secure and comfortable.
The Sensory Courtyard was generously funded by a Wooden Spoon Charity grant. Wooden Spoon supports Lliswerry Primary School’s commitment to creating inclusive and nurturing spaces that foster wellbeing and growth.
