Rugby World Cup winner launches sensory room in Norfolk

Eastern Counties

Rugby legend, Phil Vickery MBE travelled to Norfolk to launch an exciting new sensory room at John Grant School, Caister on Tuesday 7th June.

Wooden Spoon Eastern Counties were also in attendance, after their generous donation of £25,000 supported the opening of the project. The new facilities aim to provide a calm and relaxing place for students who face a wide range of challenges, including autism and severe learning difficulties.

Phil Vickery said: “Just being here, joining in and speaking to these children shows why all of us concerned in delivering these worthy projects sacrifice our time to make a real difference to these kids.”

Deputy Head of the school, Jill Water said: “The facilities are great! There is an OMI floor projector which the children can interact with by playing games and also for educational purposes. The room will provide the children with calming techniques.”

Eastern Counties would like to thank The Fossil Foundation for their continuing financial support.
