New Studio Facilities Boost Support for Coventry Community
WarwickshireThe Wooden Spoon Transmitter and Second Studio at Working Actively To Change Hillfields (WATCH), a Specialist Equipment & Facilities project involving the creation of new media and recording spaces, in Warwickshire, has been awarded a grant of £6,435 in August of 2024. This project, aimed at improving access to digital media and communication facilities for marginalised and disadvantaged individuals, is set to have a significant impact on the local community.
The Wooden Spoon Transmitter and Second Studio enhances the longstanding work of WATCH, a community-focused organisation dedicated to supporting people facing disadvantage, social exclusion and deprivation. WATCH helps local people – particularly those from ethnic minority backgrounds, refugees, asylum seekers, and culturally under-represented groups – to overcome barriers to employment, education, and community participation.
This new facility provides a creative and inclusive environment designed to help individuals develop digital skills, express their voices, and gain confidence through training and media production.
This studio project was generously funded by a Wooden Spoon Charity grant. Wooden Spoon supports WATCH’s dedication to creating environments of empowerment, learning and expression that foster wellbeing and personal development.
